North Dakota is seeing a shortage of substitute teachers and it is no different in the Richardton-Taylor Public School District. Would you like to pick the days your work and make $150 on those days? How about having your summers off? You can become a substitute teacher and have all of that.
If you want to obtain your substitute teacher license but do not have the required 48 semester hours of college, we have good news for you!! ESPB has partnered with Frontline to provide online training to individuals with less than the required 48 credits of college education to help individuals obtain their substitute license. The training cost $180 and takes approximately 20 hours to complete.
Candidates interested in enrolling in this course to sub in our school District will be able to take this course for free. Yes, you read that correctly – FREE! The RTPSD is willing to help get you registered and will pay for this course for you. All you have to do is contact Dr. Peters or Dr. Vogle at the high school or Mr. Barry at TRE to get the ball rolling.
Once training is complete, you will need to apply for the substitute license, pass a background check, submit the required documents and pay the $85 license fee. Substitute licenses are good for 2 years and expire on the applicant’s birthday. You will be licensed to substitute teach grades K-12.
